Topic 4 Control Subsystem Slide 4

The control subsystem, which is highlighted here in the blue bottom block, one will notice that this is very close to the Delfino device and it takes on some of the enhancements made on the Piccolo family. Although most of the Delfino devices come with the on-chip ADC, the choice was made within Concerto to implement the analog peripherals including the converters, the analog comparator, and temperature sensors in an analog subsystem. The key advantage here is to allow both the control and the host subsystem to access these peripherals, so the peripheral mix is independent of which processor it sits on. The analog system will be talked about more in the next presentation topic.
