One of the biggest things is that TI included some additional timer functions in the Concerto devices, primarily timer 2 clocking and control registers. The user can configure CPU timer 2 to be also clocked by an external oscillator or the on-chip 10 MHz oscillator. The user can then use CPU timer 0 or CPU timer 1 to monitor the CPU clock source and use CPU timer 2 to monitor the independent clock source. Additionally, TI has maintained the eCAP, eQEP and an additional COM port, so other than the timer, the external captures and the external COM ports, there has not been any changes here.
