On this slide are some key points of the HFE1600 series. Many products are actually high volume OEM custom power supplies that a manufacturer has decided to offer as a standard product offering. Although the cost point seems attractive, there is a large risk that the power supply will be obsoleted early if the OEM terminates the custom program. The HFE series was designed as a standard series and hence will have a long production life. All HFE1600 supplies have the same appearance and operation, making it easier to incorporate into multiple programs. The units contain internal ORing FETs allowing them to be used in hot swap, N+1 redundant applications. Individual units are 90% efficient, and up to ten units can be paralleled. The 19” rack can accommodate up to five modules, three blank plates are provided with the rack to cover any unfilled slots.
