HFE-Slide18

In summary, the HFE1600 is available in three nominal output voltages: 12V, 24V and 48V, and can deliver up to 1600W. The HFE1600 will operate continuously across a wide AC input range from 85VAC to 265VAC. The supplies contain internal ORing FETs allowing them to be used in hot swap, N+1 redundant applications. Individual units are 90% efficient and up to ten units can be paralleled, in two 19” racks totaling 3-1/2”in rack height. The standard 19” rack can accommodate up to five modules, and three blank plates are provided with the rack to cover any unfilled slots. The rear of the optional rack has five individual AC inputs supplied via an IEC320 C15 line cord or through optional screw terminal blocks. The PMBus communications interface is connected via two RJ45 connectors, and other control signals are connected the 40-pin Samtec IPD1-20-D connector. The output is supplied on two sets of bus bars, each of which can provide up to 200A. There is also an optional PMBus interface available, based on I²C, but with a SMBALERT signal line for warnings in addition to the clock and data lines. PMBus is an industry standard interface and allows communication between the system host and the power supplies, and can work with AC/DC power supplies, POLs (point of load) DC/DC converters and microprocessor power converters. Also, the PMBus supports Group Command Protocol; all the power supplies can be adjusted, or turned on or off, with one command. Individual units can be turned on and off if desired, to implement energy saving load shedding.
