The MCF5227x is supported by a Linux Board Support Package which provides everything needed to get up and running quickly with the Linux operating system. In the package is driver support for the USB host and device, and LCD, as well as additional support for several other peripherals. Additionally, the Linux Board Support Package comes equipped with the Linux 2.6.23 kernel, several GNU tools, and the user space tools. The Linux Board Support Package interfaces directly with the CodeWarrior for ColdFire Linux Professional Edition, providing a full development environment for the Linux operating system.
