This is an example of how the MCF5227x can be used as an operator interface. Here is a block diagram of the MCF5227x being used in an industrial situation. The LCD controller is being used to drive the LCD display in the system while the eight-channel, 12-bit analog-to-digital converter is used to support the touch screen functionality. The integrated GPIO is used to drive a keypad in this example, but can be used to drive a number of different things within a system. The system bus controller is used to drive the BootFLASH as well as the external double data rate memory. The integrated peripherals are also used to communicate with other systems within the network.
