MSP430L092 Introduction Slide 7

What users might see overwhelming in a pin-out of the device is the combinations of peripheral functions that each pin has. This L092 comes in a single package 14-pin TSOP, which packs several digital and analog features in different pins. Essentially, besides three power, ground, and reset pins, the L092 has eleven interrupt capable pins that can input – output digital logic, timers, capture input compare PWMs and some with extra dedicated analog functions. Providing different combinations for each pin allows for extreme flexibility for application design during schematic and layout development to optimize the PCB footprint. Having a single package also helps when migrating between end product families. In the event that the application has different tiers of moving between L092 and C092 products, a single package means customers can retain the hardware, as well as firmware, reducing the redevelopment cycle time. The family offerings include a single RAM part mainly for development and prototyping. The RAM part is called MSP430L092; it contains 2kBytes of RAM and 128B of variable and information RAM. Also, there are two ROM parts offered with the only difference being the ROM size of 1kB and 2kB of ROM.
