MSP430L092 Introduction Slide 2

First of all, what does Native 0.9 V mean? The term has been mentioned a few times already, and it is best to explain by dissecting it into native and 0.9 V. Native means the entire device, including the CPU, memory, logic, as well as all digital and analog peripherals operate at the specified Vcc. This means no voltage level translation, no charge pump or buck converter is required to maintain the operation of the device. The 0.9 V is the voltage of a single-cell battery at the end of its lifetime. The 0.9 V mark was chosen specifically to capture the entire lifetime of the battery, enabling the application to completely exhaust the energy that a single-cell has to offer. The Native 0.9 V MSP430L092 therefore operates natively across the entire range of a single-cell battery from 0.9 V to 1.65 V without the use of any internal or external converters. This enables a simple solution for a single-cell application with minimum external components and with the highest power efficiency.
