The firmware development is enabled in all MSP430 supported IDEs, including Code Composer Studio and IAR. Project creations for L092 are easy and extremely similar to previous families of the MSP430s. The screenshots on the right-hand side display the project selection and the device selection in IAR, as well as CCS. Due to the memory size supported by the MSP430L092 and C09x being 2kB and 1kB of memory, both IAR and Code Composer Studio free version can offer unlimited support to develop firmware in the L092. The debugging environment also provides traditional MSP430 debug experience, including single-stepping and breakpoints; all these features are invisible from the 1.5 V to 3 V interface. As mentioned before, the IDE takes care of the EEPROM internally and is completely invisible to the user.
