Previously the user had to purchase different models depending on how many LED strings needed to be driven. With the ALD-6, only one model needs to be stocked as the device can be user configured, paralleling up to six of the outputs. With derating, the units can be operated over a wide temperature range from -30°C to 80°C with only convection cooling. The ALD-6 also features an alarm signal that indicates if any of the strings are open as well as a remote on/off feature which will be discussed in more detail later.
