The LTM2881 also makes high power levels of up to 1W, a cored power transformer that reduces radiated emissions, and better-than-average efficiency up to 62% available to the application. Not only is the device self-powered, but it also provides external isolated power for other neighboring functions. No external components are required, all resistors, capacitors, inductors and transformer are onboard. To achieve greater than 2500VRMS isolation, the technology uses coupled signal inductors embedded in the µModule substrate. This technique ensures consistent ruggedness and reliability. The platform will be certified by safety houses, including UL, CSA and IEC to guarantee the isolation barrier’s effectiveness. The LTM2881 has been independently tested and has successfully passed radiated emissions per EN 55022 Class B limits as well as RF and magnetic field immunity testing per EN 55024.
