This table highlights the differences between the LT1965 and the LT3080. One of the main differences is the architecture, the LT1965 uses a PNP power transistor while the LT3080 uses a NPN power transistor. Also, the LT3080 can be directly paralleled while the LT1965 requires an external op amp. Another difference is that the LT1965 has additional reverse battery, reverse output, and reverse current protection as well as lower quiescent current which are important in portable device applications.
