As shown in the chart, the LT1965’s low dropout voltage allows for higher efficiency operation by minimizing the difference between the input and output voltages which reduces power dissipation. Battery life in portable devices is also increased as the battery voltage may run closer to the output voltage while still maintaining regulation. Also shown is the temperature vs. quiescent current chart. It demonstrates the low no-load quiescent current which is approximately 500μA at 25°C. When shutdown, the LT1965’s quiescent current is less than 1μA.
