This slide highlights several of the features of the MCF51EM256 and 128. The iRTC operates from an independent power supply and clock source, even during power outages, and consumes less than 2µA. The meter continues to operate from one Flash block while the other is updated and verified with new firmware. It detects and records tamper attempts or attempts to disconnect the backup battery, even during power off. It supports simultaneous sampling of four analog inputs. Add in an LCD controller that supports up to 288 segments and the user would have a robust user friendly metering solution. The MCF51EM family comes in two Flash memory options, 256K or 128K, and is available in both 80- and 100-pin LQFP packaging.
