In summary, TG4040-D is a one-part, fully cured, dispensable thermal putty, with a thermal conductivity is 3 W/m-k. It is designed for dispensing using standard industrial equipment and can be used to fill gaps from 0.25 – 5 mm. It is extremely soft and achieves almost 80% compression under a pressure of 5 PSI. The material does not require curing and will not undergo measurable changes when exposed to thermal cycling or ageing tests. It can be used to significantly reduce the costs of thermal management as it offers a lower total cost of ownership solution when compared to traditional silicone based gap pads. It can be used to significantly reduce the number of parts on a bill of materials which can lead to reduction in complexity and cost. TG4040-D is flexible so that design changes do not result in the need for the production of new and expensive tooling.
