The most notable applications for high isolation converters are those for medical and industrial equipment. For medical applications, the NCM6 series carries certification to UL60601-1 as providing 2 MOOPs, or means of operator protection. This certification is based on a creepage distance of 5 mm, reinforced insulation, and an isolation rating exceeding 3 kV. This construction also supports 1 means of patient protection, or MOPP. When used in conjunction with an appropriate front end power supply and system construction, the NCM6 provides the necessary compliance to power applied parts in patient-contact equipment applications.
