This slide discusses the many key attributes of the LTC3245. It has a wide Vin Range from 2.7V to 38V for Automotive and general purpose applications. The device has a Buck-Boost topology for Step-down and step-up conversion. The total IC Output Current is 250mA for a variety of general purpose applications and a 18µA Quiescent Current enables micro-power operation and saves battery run time. With a High Efficiency of 81% from 12 VIN to 5 VOUT, its Buck mode operation is comparable to non-synchronous switching regulators. Multimode Operation (2:1, 1:1, 1:2) with Automatic Mode Switching optimizes efficiency based on input voltage and load current operating points. A 450kHz Constant Frequency Operation Minimizes input and output ripple, and switching noise. A Pin Selectable Burst Mode® Operation enables Low IQ and extends battery run time. Short Circuit and over-temperature protection gives robustness. Only three external components minimizes BOM and saves cost.
