The LTC3245 is a 250mA buck-boost charge pump with 2.7V to 38V input voltage, low output noise & ripple, selectable low quiescent current, Burst Mode operation and compact packaging. The LTC3245 is a general purpose device but will find sockets in automotive ECU/CAN bus supplies, with 12V to 5V conversion being an efficiency sweet spot. Other key applications – where the device exhibits high value – are in boosting automotive low voltage cold-crank ride-through (~3V) to 5V conversion or in automotive start-stop applications.
