NXP developed a benchmark test and used it to compare the MC9S08LL64/16 to a well known LCD microcontroller competitor that will be referred to as “Competitor A”. The 9S08LL16 and 9S08LL64 devices provided up to 76% improvement when the conditions shown on this slide are placed on the microcontrollers. NXP LCD MCUs have such a power consumption advantage because of their multiple power saving modes, independent clock gating for all peripherals, functionality of peripherals in low power, and bus clock/flash programming functionality.
