Diodes ZXGD3113 Synchronous Rectifier Controller | DigiKey Daily

Diodes' Inc. offers their ZXGD3113, which is a synchronous rectifier controller housed in a SOT26 package. This rectifier is designed to be coupled with, and therefore control, an external MOSFET configured to operate as an ideal diode. This ZXGD3113-plus-MOSFET combination is intended to replace lossy Schottky rectifiers in AC-to-DC power supplies that are based on a fly-back or resonant converter topology. This replacement of Schottky rectifiers results in an increase to both the efficiency and lifetime of the power supply. And with an improved power supply efficiency, the need for a heatsink is negated, which saves space when compared to a lossy Schottky rectifier. Furthermore, the smaller sized SOT26 package reduces the solution size from the industry standard SO8.
