Renesas’ VersaClock family of programmable clock generators offer a combination of low power consumption, flexibility, and high performance to simplify system designs by replacing multiple discrete timing components. This approach allows for the lowering of costs associated with reduced BOM (pronounced: bomb) count and board space. The VersaClock product family works with voltages ranging from 1.8 to 3.3 volts, supports multiple clock formats, and uses multiple fractional dividers to accurately generate virtually any frequency. While consuming very little power, these programmable clock generators satisfy system requirements from oscillator replacement, to PCIe, and to communications applications. This VersaClock family, in the small 4 by 4 millimeter package, is well suited for data communications, telecommunications, and networking applications.
