Lithium Thionyl Chloride (Li-SOCl2) Batteries

Jauch’s Li-SOCl₂ batteries are available in many different sizes and forms and can be used in a diverse range of end products. At 3.6 volts, the cell voltage of Li-SOCI₂ batteries is significantly higher than the voltage level of other primary battery types. This voltage level is kept constant almost throughout the entire discharge period of the battery. The Li-SOCl₂ cell chemistry stands out from the series of non-rechargeable cells and is superior to all other primary cells in terms of energy density with values up to 710 Wh/Kg. This density is higher than that of all other primary cells, making Li-SOCI₂ batteries particularly suitable for applications with low power requirements over a long period of time. The longevity of the battery chemistry is demonstrated not only in use but also during storage. Due to the extremely low self-discharge rate of just 1% per year, these batteries can also be stored over a much longer period. These Li-SOCI₂ batteries comply with all necessary guidelines and fulfill the legal requirements. They are also compliant with the European REACH regulation and IEC60086-4 and are certified to UL1642.
