In summary, Texas Instruments’ SYS/BIOS provides a common RTOS and APIs for both the Cortex-M3 and the C28x cores on the Concerto. The user can communicate between threads on the different cores using the Notify and MessageQ modules, which are part of the IPC extensions. Of course, there is a common development environment for both cores, both development environments use CCS/Eclipse, TI compiler tools, common .map files, linkers, loaders, etc. Also, SYS/BIOS and ROV tools can be used on either core for debug and analysis. Finally, TCP-IP, Filesystem, and USB are in development, these solutions should be available in the second half of 2012 or early 2013.
