RTA is short for “real-time analysis”. The block diagram on this slide shows the target on the lower right which logs data to circular buffers. Data can be shuttled to the host using Ethernet, UART, or stop-mode when connected to CCS and the target is halted. The transport interface is an open interface and other transport links can be added by TI or by customers when a porting kit is provided in the future. CCS includes some analysis plug-ins which can be used to display items such as the execution graph and CPU load. There is also a “raw” log view which can be used to view user log data. All log data includes timestamps and the programmer can use the analysis tools to measure time between different events. Both cores can be viewed independently. There is currently no support for synchronized view between both cores although this may be done in the future.
