In summary, 3M™ High-Speed Card-Edge Connector is a high density 0.80mm pitch surface-mount, boardmount socket. It can be used in both board-to-board applications with a riser card and wire-to-board applications with 3M™ Twin Axial Cable. The connector offers high speed signal transmission performance up to 15Gbps in board-to-board applications and up to 25Gbps in wire-to-board applications. With a riser card, stack heights can be achieved in the range 16 mm to 40mm. The card-edge contract has a built-in tolerance for misalignment, up to .8mm in axis X, Y, up to 1.0mm in axis Z (at 30mm stack height). Current carrying capacity of the connector is up to 3.0A (single pin) and 0.5A current rating fully loaded. Finally, the use of high temp LCP resin for plastic housing means the connector can withstand 260ºC lead-free SMT processing.
