This application circuit shows how high voltage isolation can be achieved using an inexpensive Ethernet transformer. An EPF8119S Ethernet transformer is used to bridge the isolation barrier, where ground voltages between the I²C busses can differ up to 1500V. This application circuit will be used to demonstrate the LTC4310's performance in the next slide.
