Optimal performance is obtained when inductor ripple current is 1/3 of the maximum output current. Also, to prevent sub-harmonic oscillations, the ADP210x has internal slope compensation that limits the minimum inductor size as indicated in this slide. A standard list of suggested inductor cores that work well with the ADP210x family is shown in the table here. This family of regulators is extremely flexible and can accommodate many different inductors from several manufacturers.
