pwm dim
There are several ways to dim LEDs. One of the most popular techniques is Pulse Width Modulation, also known as PWM dimming. Using this technique, the LED is switched on and off rapidly to change the apparent LED brightness by changing the on/off ratio. Its main advantages are the following: easy to interface with a microcontroller, very low power consumption when the PWM is off (approximately 200 micro amps) and there is no color change with different dimming levels. On the other hand, some disadvantages are: possible interference with cameras and a strobe effect is visible with moving lights or objects.
