The materials used in the construction of the AP series switches were selected to ensure that the switch testing protocol captured the correct parameters. The pushbuttons have a wide operating temperature range as required by the target markets, -40ºC to +85ºC extended to +105ºC for non-illuminated versions. All of the switches and the associated plastics were tested to withstand chemicals that are notoriously difficult, such as fuel and fertilizers common in off-road and agricultural applications and alcohol for medical applications. Also, the materials selected were tested to ensure that the switches and caps were color stable and paintable, to allow the incorporation of a logo or other marking on the cap as needed. Additionally, all materials are RoHS compliant.
