In summary, the MCP2210 Evaluation Kit is a development and evaluation platform for the MCP2210 device, designed to demonstrate the device as a USB-to-SPI (Master) bridge solution. The kit is comprised of two connected boards; the breakout board and the SPI slave motherboard. The motherboard provides the test points needed for measurements and also contains the SPI slave chips which are controlled by the MCP210: an 8-bit I/O expander; a 4-channel, 12-bit ADC; a 2 kbit EEPROM; and a temperature sensor. The MCP2210 breakout board is a DIP module with a mini-USB receptacle and access points for the GP, SPI and power signals. Either 3.3V or the 5V VDD can be selected as VDD by jumper. The breakout board also provides a PICkit Serial Analyzer header for SPI communications only, which provides an alternative for the PICkit Serial Analyzer adapter. The breakout board can be used as a USB-to-SPI (Master) allowing the user to create personalized PC applications using adapter.
