hardware migration
An 8-bit to 32-bit hardware migration requires just a drop-in replacement to move from 8-bit to 32-bit performance. No layout or board changes are required and the same BDM (background debug mode) hardware cable can communicate to both devices. Matching the peripheral sets between the 8-bit and 32-bit devices enables this simplicity.
