RON can be traded off for charge injection – higher RON typically results in lower charge injection. RON flatness measures how stable the on resistance of the switch will be as the input voltage changes. Switches with very low on resistance tend to have lower distortion, and are valued in audio applications. Depending on voltage requirements there are a number of different family options to choose from. For +/-15V operation; ADG12xx parts are recommended in applications where fast switching and settling time are most critical. This is due to a low capacitance, low charge injection and low leakage performance. The ADG14xx products are recommended in applications where the On resistance of the switch needs to be kept to a minimum and where distortion through the switch needs to be as small as possible.
