Infrared 3535 Series and Metal Core PCB LEDs

Luminus Devices’ near-infrared 3535 series (SMT) and copper coreboard (MCPCB) LEDs are based on single- and dual-junction LEDs developed for consumer, industrial, and medical applications. They span the entire near-infrared wavelength range from 720 nm to 970 nm and deliver radiometric power ranging from a few hundred mW to more than 10 W in CW operation.

Single junction IR LEDs are the choice for low-cost applications requiring high power output. They are well suited as a replacement to legacy 5 mm 2-pin LEDs as they provide cost savings in a more compact package solution.

Dual junction IR LEDs have been optimized for efficiency and high drive current pulse operation making them the light source wherever high radiant intensity is needed. The 3535 IR series is offered in a variety of viewing angles ranging from very narrow (40 degrees) to wide (130 degrees).

In addition to the 3535 IR series based on a single die in a surface mount package, Luminus also offers a unique copper coreboard LED solution consisting of an array of 12 densely packed die (4 x 3 array) emitting at 720 nm to 740 nm. Due to its Lambertian emission and flat window design, this LED can easily be coupled to 3 mm to 5 mm fiber bundles. Typical applications range from machine vision/inspection to medical and scientific instrumentation.
