SLD-50/SLD-80 Series Linear LED Drivers

MEAN WELL’s SLD-50 and SLD-80 series 50 W and 80 W, respectively, linear LED drivers have both mechanism and specification strengths. Both the SLD-50 and SLD-80 series drivers can be operated from 110 V_AC to 305 V_AC input without any power derating. The 12 V and 24 V output models have a constant voltage and current mode for any 12 V or 24 V LED strip application on the market. The 56 V model applies the constant power mode, which downsizes the model numbers and is suitable for any LED luminaire design with output forward voltage between 30 V to 56 V. The 56 V also provides adjustable current Io function to reduce design compatible issues and greatly reduce stock numbers. The built-in potentiometer design allows the user to flexibly adjust output driver current. The SLD-50 and SLD-80 series can cover current ranges from 450 mA minimum to 2,100 mA maximum with a constant power mode/full power output of 900 mA to 2,100 mA.

The SLD series meets the requirements for a broader and different set of lighting applications. The slim and linear appearance of the SLD series is suitable for decoration lighting, signage, and linear luminary applications.

The main differences between the SLD-50 and SLD-80 series and the LDC-35, LDC-55, and LDC-80 series are the SLD series has a Class 2/II plastic insulation housing design and adds 12 V/24 V output voltage. The SLD series can be used for LED strips with normal constant voltage or constant current, especially for backlight applications of advertising light boxes or linear luminary applications. In contrast, the LDC series applies metal housing Class I and meets safety extra-low voltage (SELV) isolation design with various dimming functions, such as push dim/3-in-1 and DALI 2 dimming. The LDC series drivers are suitable for high-end commercial lighting products, such as office or trunk lighting.
