TUSB1002AEVM: USB 3.1, 10 Gbps, Dual Channel Linear Redriver

Summary

The TUSB1002A is a dual channel, USB 3.1 SuperSpeed Plus re-driver and signal conditioner supporting data rates of 10.0Gbps. The device complies with USB 3.1 spec revision 1.0, supporting electrical idle condition and low frequency periodic signals (LFPS) for USB 3.1 power management modes. The device offers programmable equalization that extends the interconnect distance between two devices. Also, the device supports low power modes when unplugged. The device can also function in USB compliance mode to test the transmitter for compliance to voltage and timing specifications per USB 3.1 compliance specs.

The TUSB1002AEVM implements a linear equalizer, supporting up to 16 dB of loss due to Inter-Symbol Interference (ISI). When USB signals travel across a PCB or cable, signal integrity degrades due to loss and inter-symbol interference. The linear equalizer compensates for the channel loss, and thereby, extends the channel length and enables systems to pass USB compliance. The dual lane implementation and small package size provides flexibility in the placement of the TUSB1002 in the USB3.1 path.
