STMicroelectronics’ STUSB4710 are USB power delivery controllers that communicate over the USB Type-C configuration channel pins for power negotiation with consumer devices. The STUSB4710 implements a full USB PD stack in hardware and implements necessary functions from device attach detection to power negotiation and finally VBUS discharge and protections, ensuring robust and reliable USB PD connections. The controller handles PD negotiations with upstream facing or dual role ports without assistance from external hardware or software, allowing it to be used in AC adapters, power hubs, docking stations, displays, and any other Type-C source device.
