NXP’s MMA9555L Intelligent Motion Sensing Pedometer is an accelerometer with brains. Integrating a 3 axis MEMS accelerometer with signal conditioning, data conversion, and a 32 bit microcontroller, this offers sophisticated pedometer functionality as well as activity level and orientation monitoring. By including an integrated microcontroller for the computational functions, the MMA9555L significantly reduces the bandwidth on the system application processor. In a small, 3 millimeter by 3 millimeter LGA package and consuming only 117 microamps when fully functional and 2 microamps when in stop mode, this small, low power device is ideal for any portable, wearable, or IoT application.
