CUT Series Easy-to-Use Triple Output Power Supplies

TDK Corporation introduces TDK-Lambda's CUT low-profile, triple output power supplies. Packaged in the industry standard 2" x 4" and 3" x 5" footprints, the CUT requires no minimum load, simplifying installation. The easy-to-use power supplies are designed for medical (CUT35 only), industrial, broadcast, and test and measurement applications.

Operating from a universal input voltage of 85 V_AC to 265 V_AC, the CUT series is available with two output voltage configurations. The CUTxx-522 offers 5 V ±12 V output voltages and the CUTxx-5FF 5 V ±5 V with output powers of 35 W and 75 W. The units can be configured as dual output power supplies (5 V ±24 V or 5 V ±30 V) by connecting outputs 2 and 3 in series.

The two-converter topology of the CUT enables zero minimum load operation, good regulation, and provides 500 V_AC isolation between the 5 V and the secondary outputs. The 5 V output is user adjustable from 5 V to 5.25 V, and does not impact the secondary output voltage settings. Convection cooled, the series features a wide operating temperature range from -20°C to +70°C ambient (with appropriate derating above 60°C) and carries a 3-year warranty. Options for the product series include a cover (/A) and a mounting baseplate (/B).

The CUT series has been certified to IEC/EN/ES 60601-1 (CUT35 only), IEC/EN/UL 60950-1 and carries the CE mark according to the LV and RoHS₂ Directives. Input to output isolation is 3,000 V_AC, input to ground 2,000 V_AC, and output to ground 500 V_AC. Leakage current is less than 300 µA. All models meet EN 55011-B, FCC Class B conducted / radiated emissions and IEC 61000-4 immunity standards.
