Image of Raytac MDBT53-1M/MDBT53V-1M ModulesThe MDBT53-1M module and MDBT53V-1M module from Raytac employ a Nordic nRF5340 WLCSP SoC for their compact LE audio-supported, Bluetooth® Low Energy (BLE), and Bluetooth 5.4 ready modules. Both modules provide developers of space-constrained Internet of Things (IoT), mesh networking, wearables, smart lighting, smart toys, industrial, and healthcare applications with a BLE wireless connectivity solution.

The module has also achieved pre-certified compliances such as FCC (USA), IC (Canada), CE (Europe), RCM (AU and NZ), Telec (Japan), KC (Korea), SRRC (China), NCC (Taiwan), and WPC (India), not only saves manufacturers a considerable amount of potential certification costs, but also speeds up the progress for end products to enter the market.

The MDBT53-1M module comes in a 9.3 mm x 14.3 mm x 1.85 mm form factor and the MDBT53V-1M appears with a 7.8 mm x 12.4 mm x 1.85 mm dimension. They both offer a high-performance ceramic chip antenna, delivering a wireless connectivity range of over 240 m in open space at a data rate of 125 kbps. The modules can be applied using their corresponding firmware development kits.

The nRF5340 SoC, powered by a dual-core Arm® Cortex® M33 structure, consists of an application processor (1 MB Flash/512 kB RAM) and a network processor (256 kB Flash/64 kB RAM). It supports SPI, QSPI, high-speed SPI, UART, I²C, I²S, PWM, ADC, NFC, and USB interfaces. The MDBT53-1M module offers up to 48 general-purpose input/outputs (GPIOs) and the MDBT53V-1M has 25 GPIOs available. They are both qualified over a -40°C to +105°C temperature range.

The MDBT53-1M module comes with two other antenna variations, which are the MDBT53-P1M (PCB antenna) and MDBT53-U1M (external antenna); while the MDBT53V-1M provides the PCB antenna alternative of MDBT53V-P1M (PCB antenna).
