MP6546 22 V Three-Phase BLDC Driver

The MPS MP6546 three-phase brushless DC (BLDC) motor driver is tailored for gimbal control systems. It integrates three half-bridge power stages, pre-driver circuits, field-oriented control (FOC) logic, and angle computation functionality. The device is compatible with both linear Hall sensor angle inputs and MPS magnetic angle sensors for flexible integration.

Engineered to support multiple secondary configurations, the MP6546 enables seamless connection of three-axis gimbals through a single digital interface, helping to reduce both microcontroller (MCU) workload and overall system cost.

Capable of delivering up to 3 A peak current, the MP6546 incorporates an internal charge pump to supply gate drive voltage for the high-side MOSFETs (HS-FETs). To ensure reliable operation, the device includes built-in protection features such as thermal shutdown (TSD), undervoltage lockout (UVLO), overcurrent protection (OCP), short-circuit protection (SCP), and overvoltage protection (OVP). The MP6546 comes in a compact QFN-20 package (3 mm x 4 mm) with an exposed thermal pad for improved heat dissipation.
