Image of MPS MP27942 Power Management IC The MP27942 from Monolithic Power Systems is a highly integrated power management solution designed for 2- to 4-cell Li-ion or Li-polymer battery packs. It combines fuel gauging, cell balancing, and aa full suite of battery protection functions in a compact package, making it ideal for smart battery applications. The device includes a low-side current sense amplifier and provides accurate battery status monitoring through an I²C interface.

Its flexible design supports multiple chemistries and configurations, while integrated protections ensure battery safety and longevity. With programmable settings and integrated N-channel FET drivers, the MP27942 simplifies system design and enhances pack-level safety and performance.
