The Molex SpeedMezz connector family offers mezzanine solutions with low profiles, small form factors, and flexible designs
Customers need different levels of data rates in one solution as well as connectors to accommodate these. Molex's SpeedMezz connector family offers differential plug options with SpeedStack and SpeedEdge plugs that deliver up to 56 Gbps and share the same footprint. These options make upgrading from one connector system to another easy and convenient. SpeedField plugs are single-ended and can be used up to 20 Gbps.
SpeedStack mezzanine solutions come in 4.00 mm to 10.00 mm stack heights while SpeedEdge mezzanine solutions come in stack heights as low as 7.00 mm. SpeedEdge receptacles fill the market need for a small form factor connector with robust mechanical features.They offer a gentler terminal lead-in to offer high reliability and a robust housing to handle relatively thick PCBs.
SpeedMezz connectors offer flexible performance solutions to meet a variety of application needs. They are available with a 1.00 mm wipe for optimal signal integrity or with a 2.00 mm wipe for optimal mechanical and reliability performance.
To fulfill the market's move towards flexible design solution, SpeedStack, SpeedEdge, and SpeedField receptacles share the same footprint, enabling a simple change out, and can be used as a mezzanine or edge card solutions. SpeedEdge connectors are available in vertical and right-angle configurations. Customers also require increasingly smaller module sizes so the SpeedMezz connector family offers 22 to 82 circuits in small form factors, and the design is scalable to accommodate even more circuits.
