PKM-NH Series High-Power DC/DC Power Converters

Flex Power Modules' PKM-NH series is a family of high-density DC/DC power converters in a quarter brick-footprint with several variants having different input and output settings with efficiencies reaching 97%. This series is available in a quarter-brick format with a footprint of 57.9 mm x 36.8 mm x 11.4 mm. The PKM-NH is offered with input voltages ranging from 36 V to 75 V, 40 V to 60 V, and 45 V to 60 V. The output voltages are part-number specific, ranging from 12 V to 10.8 V while delivering 50 A/600 W to 80 A/864 W, respectively.

The PKM4817NH product from this family utilizes advanced hybrid regulated ratio (HRR) technology and is optimized for parallel operation via the droop load sharing circuitry to meet high-power board demands. Up to three PKM4817LNH modules can be connected in parallel, offering 800 W of power per unit to achieve a total deliverable power level of 2,200 W. Parallel mode uses droop load sharing which means the output voltage has a typical droop characteristic, so the output voltage slightly decreases when the load is increasing while staying within system voltage limits. Obtaining a stable and regulated voltage while the system bus runs its normal operating voltage becomes a highly important capability to avoid traffic disruptions.
