Eaton’s PTC Resettable Fuse Portfolio

Positive Temperature Coefficient (PTC) resettable fuses are simple, cost-effective overcurrent protection devices. These thermistor-based components protect circuits and downstream components against too much current due to an overload or short circuit fault condition. PTCs are compact, self-resetting fuses that provide reliable circuit protection by transitioning to a high resistance state during a fault condition to limit current from damaging downstream components; upon removal of the fault, they will reset by returning to a low resistance state. Resettable PTCs are passive devices in that they do not require an external power source to limit current.

Resettable PTC fuses are found in a wide range of electronic circuits, including rechargeable battery systems, notebook computing, automotive electronics, DC motors, I/O & USB ports, wearable devices, industrial IoT/PLCs & computing, memory modules, consumer electronics, displays and set top boxes, plus many other applications.

The PTSAHT are a select group of high-temperature PPTCs capable of withstanding operating temperatures up to +125 °C and offer hold currents from 100 mA up to 500 mA.
