Gen4 Displays for the BeagleBone Black

4D Systems' Gen4 LCD Capes are designed specifically for the BeagleBone Black, BeagleBone Green, and BeagleBone Green Wireless SBCs. The Capes are offered in a 4.3”, 5.0”, or 7.0” display and both resistive touch (GEN4-4DCAPE-xxT) and capacitive touch (GEN4-4DCAPE-xxCT) options.

The 4DCAPE has an AR1021 resistive touch controller (resistive touch version only) and communicates with the BBB over I²C. The touch controllers offer robust and reliable platforms compared to previous LCD capes, which use BBB’s analog inputs and were prone to external noise.

The BBB connects directly to the adapter Cape, which then connects to the display module. Using a 30-way FFC ribbon cable enables multiple mounting options. The Gen4-4DCAPE family’s power and display signals are provided directly from the BBB. The resistive touch modules offer 4 mm x 4 mm mounting holes to mount, and the capacitive touch offers adhesive on the lens bezel.

Note: The 4DCAPE is not compatible with the original BeagleBone (white circuit board).
